Cablecom selects Patton’s Smartnode VoIP technology

Patton-Inalp Networks, creator of Smartnode VoIP technology, has announced that Cablecom, a cable-network operator in Switzerland, has selected the Smartnode 4630 Multiport BRI VoIP Router as customer premise equipment for its ‘connect PBX’ ISDN VoIP and data service for small-to-medium enterprises.

Providing up to 5 BRI ports and 8 VoIP channels, the Smartnode 4630 connects existing ISDN PBX systems to Cablecom’s IP network.

The ‘connect PBX’ service reportedly lowers overall communications costs for SMEs and preserves investment in classic ISDN equipment, while preparing a smooth path for future migration to an all-IP telephony system within the enterprise.
