Dell partners with Teradici

The two companies have collaborated to incorporate Teradici’s PCoIP technology into the new Dell Precision R5400/FX100 solution. Teradici, a player in delivering a PC experience over standard IP networks, has announced a new partnership with workstation industry player Dell that will bring Teradici’s PC-over-IP (PCoIP) technology to select Dell Precision workstations.

The two companies have collaborated to incorporate Teradici’s PCoIP technology into the new Dell Precision R5400/FX100 solution, a rack workstation and remote access solution developed specifically for professionals in engineering, product design, animation and digital imaging.

The Dell Precision platform with Teradici’s PCoIP technology will enable centrally managed access between the high-performance workstation in the datacentre and a stateless desktop device, while also providing secure access for remote workstation users.

Dell Precision workstations are intended for professional users who demand exceptional performance in the financial analysis, digital content creation (DCC), computer-aided design (CAD), geographic information systems (GIS), computer animation, software development and Internet content creation (ICC) markets. The Dell Precision R5400 is a full-featured, high-performance workstation in a compact, rackmount design.

The Dell Precision R5400 features the latest generation of multi-core Intel® Xeon® processors, advanced memory and graphics options, and supports performance enhancing RAID configurations. The Dell FX100 Remote Access Device is a fanless, stateless device that consumes only 15 watts of power and delivers the full power of the R5400 workstation to the user’s desk.
