Orange and Research In Motion (RIM) recently announced the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone, a new addition to the BlackBerry Curve series of smartphones.

The smartphone provides mobile access to e-mail, messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and popular social networking sites (including Facebook and MySpace) and features a tactile full-QWERTY keyboard for comfortable typing. It also features multimedia capabilities and access to music, games and other mobile apps for entertainment on the go.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone will be available from Orange Spain in frost.

Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone for customers in France.

The smartphone provides mobile access to e-mail, messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and social networking sites (including Facebook® and MySpace) and features a tactile full-Azerty keyboard for comfortable typing. It also features multimedia capabilities and access to music, games and other mobile apps for entertainment on the go.

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is a quad band phone, and is also Wi-fi-enabled.

Cable&Wireless Worldwide and Research In Motion (RIM) have announced the availability of the BlackBerry solution to Cable&Wireless customers in the UK.

The BlackBerry solution brings together smartphones, software and services to allow Cable&Wireless customers in the UK wireless access to e-mail, phone, messaging, social networking, calendar, web, multimedia and other business and lifestyle applications.

RIM informed that customers can take advantage of Cable&Wireless’ FMC proposition when using a BlackBerry smartphone. This allows mobile services to be delivered over a fixed IP network – converging fixed and mobile services onto a single wireless device.

At launch Cable&Wireless will offer the BlackBerry Bold 9000, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphones.

As part of the FMC offering, Cable&Wireless customers will need to deploy the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which integrates with IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise and provides encryption and IT policy controls.

Hyperoffice and Tata Communications are partnering to offer the Hyperoffice collaboration suite with the data and voice tools that Tata Communications delivers to business subscribers in India and other countries around the world.

Tata Communications offers internet services in India under the Tata Indicom brand name to business subscribers, including online backup, security, web conferencing, business e-mail, hosting, high speed broadband, dial-up internet, net telephony and Wi-fi.

Tata Communications plans to deploy a private-labeled version of Hyperoffice to its subscribers in the third quarter of 2009.

America Movil and Nokia has signed an agreement to bring a “top-of-the-line messaging experience” in multiple devices to customers in Latin America.

Through this agreement, the Nokia Messaging solution will be available to America Movil customers in seven countries before the end of the year.

Through Nokia Messaging, America Movil customers will be able to aggregate and manage multiple e-mail accounts while on the move in a single application, Nokia said.

The two companies have agreed to launch Nokia Messaging first in five countries this summer with the Nokia E63, Nokia E71 Black, Nokia E72 and Nokia E75. These devices will include the licence for Nokia Messaging, which will be promoted in attractive data plans together with America Movil, the company added.

Orange and Nokia will extend their partnership with a new e-mail service for consumers.

This extension to their multi-country agreement is aimed at delivering and launching a co-branded solution, Nokia Messaging by Orange, on a range of Orange Signature devices.

First announced in February 2008, this three-year agreement was formed by Nokia and Orange to meet demand for multimedia on the mobile. The alliance will expand the portfolio to eight countries and will include up to 30 Nokia devices in the Orange Signature range in 2009.

Launching first in the UK from this summer, followed by France and Spain, Orange customers will be able to take advantage of built-in push e-mail on the forthcoming Nokia E75 and a range of Nokia devices.  

Orange customers will be able to aggregate and manage multiple e-mail accounts while on the move via the Orange homescreen.

Nokia informed that the service enables people to directly access up to 10 personal e-mail accounts, letting them read, send, forward and reply to e-mails, view subfolders, download and read attachments and attach files to e-mails directly on the Nokia device.

Belgacom and Research In Motion (RIM)have announced the availability of the BlackBerry Storm smartphone in Belgium.

Designed to satisfy the needs of both consumers and business customers, the BlackBerry Storm smartphone combines the communications features, global connectivity and personal productivity attributes of the BlackBerry platform with a touch-screen technology.

The phone’s SurePress touch-screen is aimed at enhancing the touch interface for both typing and navigation.

Virtual keyboards on the BlackBerry Storm respond similar to a physical keyboard to allow easy typing and the interface also supports single-touch, multi-touch and gestures for intuitive navigation, the company noted.

The BlackBerry Storm can be used in portrait or landscape mode because of its built-in orientation sensor (accelerometer).

The smartphone will run on Proximus’s network, a 3G network in Belgium.

Research In Motion (RIM) has introduced the BlackBerry Storm smartphone in Hong Kong.

The smartphone features a ‘clickable’ touch-screen, which seeks to improve the touch interface and enables easy typing.

The phone boasts a stunning display, 3G (HSPA) network support, desktop-style web pages and advanced multimedia capabilities including a 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording, a media player and an expandable memory card slot.

The BlackBerry Storm enables access to IM and social networking services, and comes with built-in GPS and e-mail and messaging capabilities.

The smartphone has a 3.25-inch, high resolution (480×360 at 184 ppi) display. Featuring a built-in media player that handles a range of video and music formats, it also supports video streaming and can be synchronised with iTunes for music content or wirelessly connected (via Bluetooth) to a home stereo using the BlackBerry Music Gateway.

With HSPA connectivity, BlackBerry Storm users can enjoy an HTML browser that works in either portrait or landscape modes thanks to the built-in orientation sensor (accelerometer).

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone is expected to be available in Hong Kong from 1O1O, 3 Hong Kong, China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited, one2free and SmarTone-Vodafone in the second quarter 2009.

EMS, Telenor and Research In Motion (RIM) have announced the launch of the BlackBerry solution in Pakistan.

The BlackBerry solution brings together smartphones, software and services to allow wireless access to e-mail, messaging, phone, organiser, web and multimedia applications, as well as other business and lifestyle applications.

Telenor customers in Pakistan will now be able to enjoy the benefits of using BlackBerry smartphones to stay connected to people and information on the go.

At launch, Telenor Pakistan will offer the BlackBerry Curve 8320, BlackBerry Pearl 8120, and BlackBerry Bold smartphones.

In addition to a range of e-mail, messaging, phone, organiser, web and multimedia applications, all three smartphones come with RIM’s intuitive trackball navigation system, an easy-to-use keyboard, a high resolution colour display, digital camera, expandable memory storage, built-in Wi-fi and global roaming support, RIM said.

At launch Telenor will offer the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software for corporate customers and BlackBerry Internet Service for smaller businesses and individual users.

Windows Live Hotmail, a web-based e-mail solution, is now available on Nokia Messaging, the service that enables people to access their personal e-mail on their Nokia devices.

In May, Nokia Messaging will also be supported by the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia’s first mass-market touchscreen device.

Nokia Messaging is currently free to download and set-up, and supports various e-mail accounts – Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, AOL Mail – and accounts from other e-mail providers as well.

The solution enables access of up to 10 personal e-mail accounts on a Nokia device, and through one single icon. Once Nokia Messaging is set-up, e-mail accounts can be added to the service directly on the phone, as well as via the Nokia Messaging website.

With the addition of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia Messaging will be available on 20 different device models worldwide, including the recently announced Nokia E75 which is reportedly the first device to come preloaded with Nokia Messaging, Nokia E71, Nokia E63, Nokia E66 and Nokia N79.

More Nokia device models, including the Nokia E55, Nokia N97 and Nokia N86 8MP, will support Nokia Messaging when they begin shipping, the company added.
