Eastman Kodak Company has informed that its board of directors has elected Susan Tousi as a Vice President of the company, effective immediately.

Tousi, 40, is General Manager of Consumer Inkjet Systems, a position she has held since 2007, when Kodak launched its line of inkjet printers.

Tousi previously served as R&D manager for Kodak’s consumer inkjet development programme from 2003 to 2007, leading a group of technologists in San Diego, Rochester and Singapore.

Prior to joining Kodak, Tousi was an R&D programme manager for Phogenix Imaging, a joint venture start-up of Hewlett-Packard and Kodak. She previously spent ten years with Hewlett-Packard in technical and product commercialisation roles.

ITC DeltaCom, a provider of integrated communications services to customers in the southeastern United States, has named Mike DeGraw as Senior Vice President of Wholesale Sales.

DeGraw was previously president and co-owner of Huntington Telecom, an international wholesale voice operator.

DeGraw brings over seventeen years of sales strategy, business development and corporate leadership experience in the telecommunications industry.

DeltaCom has a fibre optic network, and offers a suite of voice and data communications services, including local, long distance, broadband data, internet connectivity, wireless voice and data services, and customer premise equipment.

Palm has introduced the Palm Pixi phone – the second handset in its webOS range – for ‘intuitive and personal communication’. It is scheduled to be available exclusively from Sprint before Christmas.

In addition to linking information from Google, Facebook and Exchange ActiveSync, Palm Pixi adds Yahoo and LinkedIn integration to Palm Synergy and assembles it all in a single view.

Complementing the phone’s Facebook integration with the contacts, phone, calendar and photo applications, a new Facebook application will be available with Palm Pixi so users can see and comment on all the latest news, as well as update their status. When launched, the phone will be offered with limited edition ‘Artist Series’ backs.

Alcatel-Lucent has announced the appointment of Subhash Bana as vice president R&D reporting to Vivek Mohan, managing director of Alcatel-Lucent India.

In his new role, Subhash will be responsible for improving engineering performance across the carrier and applications software activities, including R&D service delivery, quality and innovation enhancing support to the Indian customers.

He will also liaise with the business divisions to develop and execute products and solutions for emerging markets.

Subhash comes with over 24 years of experience in the defence, telecom, media and entertainment markets. Prior to his appointment, he was vice president of Thomson’s operations in India and Sri Lanka.

Before joining Thomson in 2007, Subhash had worked with Alcatel-Lucent in various capacities for 14 years. His last assignment with Alcatel-Lucent was as managing director of Alcatel Development India.

The Nokia Siemens Networks Board of Directors has appointed Rajeev Suri as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2009. Suri succeeds Simon Beresford-Wylie, who will support Suri during a transition period through 1 November before leaving the company.

Beresford-Wylie will leave the Nokia Group Executive Board as of 30 September 2009. Suri will be based at Nokia Siemens Networks’ headquarters in Espoo, Finland.

Suri, who currently leads the Services business of Nokia Siemens Networks, brings 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Previous positions have included leading the Asia-Pacific region in both product and service sales; overseeing teams for customers such as Hutchison; and managing products, such as the early cellular transmission portfolio of Nokia.

In previous roles, he has been based in various locations including India, Finland, the United Kingdom, West Africa and Singapore.

Jay Vandenbree is joining LG Electronics USA in the newly-created position of Senior Vice President, Go-to-Market Operations, reporting to Teddy Hwang, President of LG Electronics USA.

Vandenbree, a long-time Sony Electronics executive, will be responsible for key sales support activities including product management, pricing, promotion, channel merchandising and market analysis for LG’s home entertainment and home appliance business in the United States.

Nokia has announced that Robert Andersson, who currently heads Finance, Strategy and Strategic Sourcing in the Devices unit, will leave the Group Exective Board as of 30 September 2009 in connection with his transfer to new duties in the Corporate Development Office as of 1 October 2009.

He will head the Corporate Alliances and Business Development function, which includes responsibility for strategic partnerships and alliances, including the recently announced cooperation with Microsoft.

In related news, Nokia is planning to introduce a Solutions unit on 1 October. Alberto Torres, currently head of Devices Category Management has been appointed to head the new Unit and becomes a member of the Group Executive Board as of 1 October 2009.  Alberto Torres joined Nokia in 2004.

Ericsson’s Executive Vice President Bert Nordberg has been appointed President of Sony Ericsson as of 15 October 2009. He will join Sony Ericsson on 1 September 2009, to take on the position as Co-President.

Bert Nordberg is presently also head of Ericsson Silicon Valley. He will leave his positions in Ericsson when he joins Sony Ericsson.

Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman, CEO and President of Sony Corporation, will take on the role as Chairman of Sony Ericsson on 15 October while Carl-Henric Svanberg, President and CEO of Ericsson will remain in the board of Sony Ericsson.

Carl-Henric Svanberg is currently Chairman of Sony Ericsson.

MySpace has announced an agreement to acquire iLike, a social music discovery service.

Brothers Ali and Hadi Partovi founded iLike in 2006.

The entire iLike team will stay intact including, CEO Ali Partovi, President Hadi Partovi and CTO Nat Brown.

MySpace noted that all three are seasoned entrepreneurs who havrve held executive positions at both start-ups and Fortune 100 companies. Prior to iLike, Ali Partovi founded and sold LinkExchange to Microsoft and Hadi Partovi independently co-founded and sold TellMe Networks, also to Microsoft.

Hadi Partovi also incubated Start.com (now Live.com). Brown has a history as an early architect at Microsoft, and he was involved in the creation the first Xbox, .NET/CLR, and ActiveX/COM/OLE.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not released.

Aptina has appointed David Orton as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He will assume his new responsibilities starting 5 August 2009.

David Orton succeeds Nicholas Brathwaite who has been the CEO since April 2008 and who will assume the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for Aptina.

Aptina is now independent and privately held following the sale by Micron Technology of a majority interest to Riverwood Capital and TPG Capital on 10 July 2009. Micron has retained a 35 per cent minority interest in Aptina.

Orton, 53, most recently served as CEO at venture-backed start up, DSM Solutions.
