Speakeasy, a Seattle-based broadband voice (VoIP), data and IT service provider, has expanded its SIP IP voice and data integration capability as part of its ‘Integrated Voice’ service.
Speakeasy can now provide combined voice and data service over direct SIP trunks (Session Initiation Protocol), in addition to its existing service over analog and digital lines.
Integrated Voice connects to a traditional key system or PBX, and now with direct SIP, to an IP PBX, making it easy to take advantage of the cost savings and flexibility of Speakeasy Voice, the company said.
With Integrated Voice, available bandwidth is automatically allocated to data transmission, such as e-mail and general Web use, when calls are not in use. This reportedly optimises the customer’s network utilisation. In addition, by using an optional VoIP codex, G.729, customers can free up even more data bandwidth by further compressing voice traffic, the company added.
